I was able to request the Insignia Oden with SenseMotion technology from Babeland and I waited patiently ( or I attempted to wait patiently) for it to arrive. Getting the Oden in the mail was very exciting for me, I have never owned a luxury toy before and I was very keen to try it out as soon as I could pry it out of the box. The Isignia Oden by LELO is in a word, beautiful. It comes beautifully packaged in a glossy black cardboard box with pictures of the Oden on it. It also wording on 2 sides with wording that I am assuming tell the contents of the package. I say assuming because none of the wording is in English on those two sides . Inside of the cardboard box was another sturdier box that was completely black with only the word LELO printed on the top in the very middle of the lid. Inside it appeared to be lovingly placed in a black box that will work well for future storage. The box contained on the top layer, the Oden, the remote, and a small pin in the signature LELO design. Beside where the Oden rested is a cardboard piece in black that you could lift where you found that there was a second layer to the inside of this package. In this layer I found the plug for charging the Oden, a plastic key for unlocking the remote, a small silky LELO bag to hold my new toy, a package of LELO personal moisturizer and several small booklets. There was a small do & do not list that made such suggestions as-

  • Apply cleaning solution directly to the silicone
  • Charge unit monthly
  • Ensure that interface is locked between uses

Do Not

  • Do not clean with scouring materials or silicone or alcohol based solutions
  • Do not store in direct sunlight
  • Do not use when plugged in or charging
  • Do not boil any component
  • Do not overextend flexible portions of Tiani and Oden
  • Do not use items such as coins or screwdrivers to open controller

The second instructional item in the box is your warranty paperwork, that comes in English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian. LELO products come with a 1-year warranty and a 10-year quality guarantee. The 1-year warranty covers working parts that affect the function of the pleasure object. Keep in mind that to use this warranty, you must have your receipt and prove that the defect happened within the warranty period. The 10-year guarantee is a continuation if the 1-year warranty that allows owners of a LELO product  that fails after the warranty is expired, to purchase a replacement at 50% off the listed price. Both of these can be taken care of  through customercare@lelo.com.

The 3rd instructional manual is an Isignia manual from LELO for their SenseMotion products. This manual is also in several languages. It instructs the user on how to put the batteries into the remote, how to use the remote, how to use each toy and how to charge your toy. Each SenseMotion toy may require charging before it can be used.

The first thing that you should do is to charge your Oden. The bottom half of the Oden can be unscrewed by turning placing your fingers on the shiny gold part of the toy and twisting counterclockwise until it releases. Then you will see the spot to insert your cord to charge the toy. When it is plugged into the toy and the wall a light comes on that flashes until the toy is charged. After charging your toy unplug the cord and reconnect your toy by screwing the endpiece clockwise until it is completely screwed in.

The Oden has four parts that you need to be aware of. The pleasure point is located at the tip of the Oden.  The turn on/seek button is located in the middle of the toy on the top side. There is the base attachment that you unscrew to reveal the DC port. The last part is the flexible wearable portion of the Oden.

To use the Oden with the remote, you must first establish a wireless connection from the Oden to the remote. You press the plus (+) sign located on the remote to turn it on. You would then press the turn on/seek button for 1 second to activate your toy and initiate its seek mode. It could take up to 10 seconds for the Oden to locate the remote. When it locates the remote it will flash continually every 2 seconds to indicate that it is functioning and receiving a signal from the wireless controller. The remote has two modes. Mode 1 is active when you hold the remote flat in the palm of your hand. This cause a low vibration that can be felt on the remote as well as the Oden. Tilting causes the vibration intensity to change. Holding it flat puts the vibration at 10% intensity and tilting the remote at about a 45- 90 degree angle changes the intensity to 100%. The second mode is accesible by pressing the middle button that looks a little like an eye. To turn the Oden off press the same button that you use to turn it on and holding it for 2-4 seconds. LELO recommends locking the remote when not in use. To turn the remote off, press the minus (-) sign until all vibrations are stopped. To lock it hold both the plus and minus sign for about 4 seconds. This ensures that the remote doesn’t turn on when you aren’t ready to use it.

Whew, after going through the manual I need a small nap. I really wasn’t in the mood to use it after going through its proper usage, but I was eager to use it at a later date. A few days later I took the Oden out of its box and prepared to have some fun with the husband. I had only used a toy of this type 1 other time when I used the Koa by PicoBong. Which as it so happens is actually a LELO company. One of my complaints with the Koa was the inability to use it for its intended purpose as a cock ring. I didn’t have this problem with the Oden. It fit very comfortably around my husband and we had several enjoyable encounters while using the Oden.

I confess that after trying the Oden I much prefer the second  mode on the Oden. It was very enjoyable to use and although it did not have the power that I prefer but since we used it as a cock ring it was a great addition to our pleasure time.  If one wanted to use this toy solo I would recommend adding a vibrator or dildo because it wasn’t as enjoyable when using the Oden alone. On a scale 1-5 I would use several points to get my overall satisfaction rating.

5 of 5 stars for the design and texture

3 of 5 stars for the power ( mainly the second mode)

5 of 5 stars because of the warranty/guarantee

5 of 5 stars for compatibility

Overall, I was very happy with the product as well as how secure I feel in purchasing future LELO products. I give the LELO Insignia Oden 4 out of 5 stars and that lost star is mainly due to the fact that I prefer more power in my toys. I would gladly shell out the money for a toy of this caliber even with the lower power simply because of the other features. LELO is a company that I will continue to look at for innovative products. I am extremely happy with my Oden. It was very easily cleaned. The Oden is made of silicone and plastic which makes it very easy to clean. I used warm water and soap to clean the Oden. I didn’t use a lube but if you’d like to use one make sure that it is a water-based lubricant.
